Survey Responses
From carrying out a survey with my target demographic, I have discovered what the most popular features are, so I can include them in my magazine and make them apply to my target market.
Question 1:
I have learnt that the most desired colour scheme is black, white and red, which will make the magazine seem professional and somewhat sophisticated
Question 2:
My front cover will include a mid shot of a female cover star as that is the most favourable option, this will allow the reader to connect with the cover star and allow me to create a friendly mode of address.
Question 3:
It will be very busy with and written in two different fonts as that is what my target audience preferred, this will also make it stimulating and fun, specifically for my demographic.
Question 4:
The responses to this question were very split, and although it was most popular to have predominantly pictures, I will see what works best when constructing my layout as having too many images may be too distracting and dominant.
Question 5:
The preferred mode of address is friendly and chatty with a sassy attitude, which will appeal to my young target audience of 13-20 year olds.
Question 6:
My cover star will be female as it was the most popular response and therefore it will appeal to my predominantly female demographic.
Question 7:
I will use 2 fonts on my front cover so it adds some interest and texture, but it is not to overpowering, additionally, doing this will ensure I can retain a strict house style.
Question 8:
My audience agreed that the front cover was a selling point of a magazine is the front cover, therefore I will ensure that mine is eye-catching and engaging, to make it stand out compared to competitor products.
Question 9:
My double page spread will contain 2-3 pictures to make it fun, stimulating and appealing to my target audience, while still providing plenty of text.
Question 10:
I will aim to present a sassy and cool attitude throughout my media product to ensure that it appeals to my fairly young audience.
